FAQ

Where is the office located?

I share my office space with other therapists at 1904 South Street, Philadelphia, PA 19146.

I am available for in-person sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

I also offer virtual sessions throughout the week.

Is your office handicap-accessible?
Unfortunately, no. My office is on the third floor, and there is no elevator.
Do you accept insurance?
Dunami Counseling is a private-pay provider, meaning you will pay for sessions at the time of service. You should contact your insurance provider to learn about their out-of-network reimbursement policy if you want to use your insurance. I can provide a monthly superbill that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
Do you offer a sliding scale?
I believe therapy should be accessible for all, so I offer a few slots at a reduced rate. Contact me to determine if you qualify for a reduced rate and if there are slots available.
What is your cancellation policy?

There is a 24-hour cancellation policy. You will receive an email and/or text reminder before each session, and it would be greatly appreciated if you reschedule your appointments with as much notice as possible.

Providing notice well in advance allows me to open your slot to other clients. Should you fail to cancel your session within the 24-hour window or if you are a no-show, you will be charged for the entire session fee.

What is a free initial phone consultation?
A free consultation is an opportunity for you to share what you want from counseling, and it allows me to answer any questions you might have before beginning therapy.
With what age ranges do you work?
While most of my clients are women in their 20s and 30s, I also work with children and adolescents. For me, it’s more about what brings someone into therapy as opposed to their age.
What do you do in sessions?
During sessions, we will do a lot of talking! I believe in getting to know clients first and learning about what brings them into therapy. We will spend time processing events and figuring out ways for you to manage the different stressors in your life.
What modalities do you use with clients?
Based on the research, outcomes are similar regardless of what theory a therapist uses. So, I incorporate several different modalities into my work. You’ll find that I primarily practice from a Person-Centered Approach while mixing in some Solutions-Focused and Feminist Theories.
What does a client need to know to make the most of working with you?
Clients get the most out of therapy with me when they come in ready to do the work. Clients prepared to face what life has put in front of them and be open and vulnerable tend to get the most out of therapy.
Do I have to lie on a couch?
Nope! But there is a couch; if you’d feel comfortable lying down, go for it. But that is not a requirement for working with me!
Cats or Dogs?
Well, I have both. But only the dog attends therapy sessions with me!
